Introduction
At Kenrol Investments Ltd., we have a number of criteria, which we look for when considering investment opportunities. All proposals with no exception go through this evaluation process.
Business and Technology Factors
We are looking for start-ups and early-stage companies with innovative or significantly differentiated product or service. Ideally, the company is amongst the first to enter a new sector or to market an innovative technological solution. Companies with proprietary products/services, which are already at a prototype and/or beta-stage resulting in a high barrier to entry for competitors, have the best chance for an investment.
Human Factors
We strongly believe that the building block of a successful company is certainly its management. We are interested in working with companies where founders with relevant industry and/or technical experience are solely focused on the opportunity. We realize that at an emergent start-up not all of the elements of the management team might be in place at the time of investment. We can help build the team as required.
Market Factors
The competitive advantage should be quantifiable and with meaningful barriers to competitive entry. Typically, there must be an addressable niche, underserved or emerging market experiencing rapid growth.
Exit Strategy Factors
Our preference is to invest in companies with a potential to achieve an exit for investors within three to five years. Entrepreneurs should share our objective of quick growth over three to five years leading to a well thought out exit strategy.
Investment Size Factors
The potential size of an investment by Kenrol Investments Ltd. is between US $100,000 and US $500,000. In certain circumstances, Kenrol Investment Ltd. can invest up to US $1 million.
Geographic Factors
Eastern Europe and former USSR states.
